Full Breakdown
Under Zoning Ordinance § 22.4.36(M), Edmond allows Medical Marijuana Commercial Growers as a principal use in the General Agricultural, Wholesale Trade, and Light Industrial Service districts (§ 22.4.35). Grow facilities in the General Agricultural district skip the standard landscaping and parking rules to preserve rural character, but outdoor growing areas must stay at least 300 feet from any dwelling other than the property owner's and at least 100 feet from any property line. Every marijuana establishment must also get a City Clerk certificate confirming zoning, fire, safety, and health compliance under § 4.90.020 before opening. Dispensary siting itself follows the state's own distance rules under Title 63 § 425 and OAC 310:681, not a separate city buffer.
Violations & Fines
Operating without the City's zoning certificate of compliance, or violating the district or setback standards, can trigger notice to the state licensing authority and revocation of the local certificate.
