Full Breakdown
Simi Valley has exercised its local authority under California Business and Professions Code Section 26200 to prohibit all commercial cannabis operations within city limits. This includes retail dispensaries, delivery-only operations, cultivation facilities, manufacturing, testing laboratories, and distribution centers. The prohibition applies to all zoning districts. No state cannabis licenses may be issued for operations within Simi Valley. Residents must obtain cannabis products from licensed dispensaries in other jurisdictions. Cannabis delivery services licensed in other jurisdictions may deliver to Simi Valley addresses per state law, as cities cannot ban delivery into their jurisdiction. The city council periodically reviews this policy.

Operating any commercial cannabis business in Simi Valley is a code violation and potential criminal offense.
