In the City of Gilroy, Municipal Code section 6.7(i) amends the International Property Maintenance Code so every structure must stay free of insects, rodents and vermin. Once code enforcement flags an infestation, the property owner must hire a licensed exterminator, get a written severity report, and exterminate promptly. Landlords must clear pests before renting or leasing any dwelling, rooming house or nonresidential structure under section 309.2.
