Gulfport's minimum housing code requires basement and cellar openings that could let rodents in to be screened or otherwise sealed under Code Section 23-61, and makes occupants and owners responsible for exterminating insects, rodents and other pests. An owner who lets a building fall into rat-prone disrepair takes over the extermination duty.
