In the City of Tamarac, code enforcement officers and Broward Sheriff's Office deputies enforce the City Code through Chapter 2's special-magistrate system rather than criminal court, under Tamarac Code § 2-73.08. When an officer finds a violation, § 2-73.08(3)(b) requires written notice and a correction period of no more than thirty (30) calendar days before a citation issues; officers can skip that window and cite immediately for repeat, itinerant, irreparable, or safety-threatening violations under § 2-73.08(3)(c).
