In unincorporated Allegany County, an accessory dwelling unit is only a zoning right in the B-1, B-2 and I Districts, and only as a use tied to a commercial or industrial building on the same lot. Shed & Carport Rules

A shed or other residential accessory structure in unincorporated Allegany County may sit only in the side or rear yard, never the front yard in urban districts, under § 360-129A, and must meet Table 2's 8-foot side and rear setbacks and 30-foot height cap in § 360-126. Storage in mobile homes, travel trailers, cargo boxes or similar devices is not allowed as an accessory use.
