Red-Light Cameras
Allegany County bars police from using red-light or speed cameras, defined in the Code as "traffic law photo-monitoring devices," to catch or prove violations of county traffic ordinances on County-maintained roads. Enacted by Bill No. 2-19 in 2019, § 461-9 still lets radar and lidar speed devices operate and leaves state and municipal roads outside the ban.
