Pool Permits
A residential swimming pool in unincorporated Ascension Parish needs a building permit unless it is a small prefabricated pool. Ascension Parish Code § 6-5(501)(1)(g) exempts only prefab pools under 24 inches deep and under 5,000 gallons installed entirely above ground; every other pool, including in-ground and larger above-ground pools, pays the flat $125.00 residential permit fee set in § 6-8(801)(5)(d).
