Smoke Detectors

Unincorporated Cass County's Health Department Lodging Code requires every hotel, motel, bed and breakfast, cabin, tourist court or other lodging establishment with five or more guest rooms to install smoke detectors in every sleeping room, kitchen, hallway, laundry room, mechanical room and hazardous area. Detectors must be hardwired with battery backup, tested at least monthly, and the Health Department's Regulatory Authority can order additional units installed at any time under Cass County Code Section 225.706.
