Prohibited Species
Citrus County's Land Development Code bars invasive species from any required landscape buffer in the unincorporated county. Every plant on the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's invasive-species list is barred, plus a named roster including Brazilian pepper, Australian pine, melaleuca and Chinese tallow. The rule governs buffer plantings under new site and subdivision plans, not Crystal River or Inverness.
