Citrus County's tax collector decides how a business, profession or occupation is classified for its annual business tax receipt. Disagree with the classification and you can appeal directly to the Board of County Commissioners, whose ruling is final under Code § 94-45.

In the event of a disagreement between the applicant and the tax collector as to the proper classification of any business, profession or occupation for business tax receipt purposes, the tax collector shall decide the classification. The applicant shall have the right to appeal such decision to the board of county commissioners whose decision shall be final.
