Anyone peddling goods or soliciting orders door-to-door in unincorporated DuPage County without a fixed business location must register their name, and any firm they represent, with the County Clerk before starting. Skipping registration risks a $50 to $1,000 fine for each offense.

Door-to-door solicitors in unincorporated DuPage County can only knock or ring a doorbell between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. (7 p.m. during daylight saving time). Residents can also post a county-supplied "No Solicitors Invited" card, and any solicitor who ignores it is committing a nuisance violation.
