Grays Harbor County's code does not set a general backyard fire-pit rule for the unincorporated county; the only outdoor fire-pit standard in the county code sits in the recreational vehicle and travel trailer park chapter. Section 16.28.140.C requires every fire pit or base in a licensed RV park to be built of noncombustible material and kept a safe distance from vegetation and other combustibles.

Planning and Building sets conditions on stand number, location and size, and unlawful discharge or possession can bring a misdemeanor charge under Section 8.08.070.
