Pool Permits

Highlands County's Floodplain Management Ordinance, part of the Land Development Regulations, names 'installation of swimming pools' outright as regulated development under Section 12.12.500(B). Any pool sited wholly or partly within a mapped flood hazard area must clear the floodplain administrator's review in addition to the county's general building permit before construction starts.
