Historic-Cultural Monuments
When Howard County's Historic Preservation Commission finds a building of unusual importance to the county, state, or nation, County Code Section 16.608 requires the Commission to negotiate an economically feasible preservation plan with the owner before it can approve any exterior alteration, move, or demolition, and to deny the application outright if the work would materially impair the structure's historic value.
