Agricultural Zoning Protection

Iredell County's Land Development Code exempts bona fide farms, including start-up farms, from its zoning provisions entirely under Section 1.3.6. A farm qualifies using the state law test in G.S. § 160D-903, and the exemption holds even for farm buildings, agricultural tourism and production wineries built on qualifying land, though the floodplain rules still apply to protect the county's flood insurance program.
