In unincorporated Rapides Parish, a sexually oriented business cannot open within 2,000 feet of a park, library, church, school, day care, another sexually oriented business, or any alcohol-selling establishment. The Rapides Parish Police Jury requires a $500 occupational license from the Parish Sales Tax Collector before doors open, and operating without one is a misdemeanor enforced by injunction as well as criminal fines.
