Encroachment Permits
In unincorporated Rapides Parish, the Police Jury issues permits before anyone installs pipes, cables, wires, or crossing structures within the rights-of-way of parish roads, highways, streets, or alleys. Permits go only to the facility's owner, are nonexclusive, and require a certified-check deposit when the work involves excavation. Owners must remove or relocate their installation at no cost to the parish whenever road work requires it.
