Parkway Planting

Stanislaus County bans planting any tree, shrub, or vine within 10 feet of the road right-of-way edge on county roads, widening to 15 feet for walnut trees and large ornamental shade trees. The county road commissioner can order removal of any plant that becomes a traffic obstruction, and if the owner doesn't comply, crews remove it and bill the owner.
