Fireworks
Unincorporated Surry County's noise ordinance bans unreasonably loud, disturbing sound county-wide, but Chapter 132 carves out lawful fireworks: noise from lawful fireworks or noise makers used on holidays or religious ceremonies is expressly exempt from the chapter. The Board of Commissioners has not adopted a separate fireworks-discharge ordinance, so the noise exemption is the only county-level rule addressing fireworks in unincorporated areas.
