Tangipahoa Parish requires every peddler, hawker, itinerant merchant and transient vendor to get a license from the parish permit office under Sec. 26-141, at a fee the parish council sets by resolution. Going onto private residential or business property in the rural, unincorporated parish to solicit without that permit and without the owner's invitation is a criminal nuisance under Sec. 26-211.
