Pool Permits

Before an unincorporated Walton County homeowner can get a building permit for an in-ground swimming pool, Section 6-1-920(D) of the Land Development Ordinance requires the Walton County Health Department to approve the pool first, on top of the setback and fencing standards the same section imposes.

Fencing & Safety Requirements

Unincorporated Walton County requires every home swimming pool and its deck to be enclosed by a wall or fence at least four feet high. Section 6-1-920(B) of the Land Development Ordinance applies the rule to any in-ground or above-ground pool deeper than twenty-four inches or with at least one hundred square feet of surface area.
