In York County, Virginia, charcoal grills, liquefied petroleum gas grills, braziers, hibachis and similar cooking devices are banned on the combustible balconies, patios and decks of multifamily and single-family attached buildings under Section F-316.0 of the amended Fire Prevention Code. Only electric grills listed for use on combustible surfaces are permitted, and landlords must warn tenants in writing at move-in.
