An air conditioner, pool pump, or other mechanical unit in unincorporated Yuba County can't push noise more than 5 decibels over the ambient base level at the property line. County Code § 8.20.260 bars operating 'any machinery, equipment, pump, fan, air conditioning apparatus, or similar mechanical device' past that ceiling, layering onto the zone-and-time limits already set in § 8.20.140.
