Bend, OR Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Bend Code 5.35.005(A) makes it unlawful for anyone under 18 to be on a street, highway, park, alley or other public place between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m. the following morning when that morning is a school day in the Bend public school system, and between midnight and 4:00 a.m. on all other nights. Subsection (B) extends liability to a parent, guardian or other person who has care and custody of the minor and allows the minor to be out in violation of subsection (A); a parent can be cited even if they are not the one out past curfew.

Enforcement under subsection (C) is deliberately non-custodial for the minor: a peace officer or other law enforcement officer may take or send the minor to the minor's residence and notify the parents, guardian or person having care and custody, rather than book the minor into custody. Subsection (D) lists four exceptions: a minor accompanied by a parent, guardian or another adult 21 or older authorized to have custody; a minor engaged in a lawful activity that requires being out during curfew hours; a minor traveling through Bend in a vehicle on an interstate or intrastate trip; and a minor emancipated under ORS 419B.550 to 419B.558.

Because the school-night cutoff is tied to the Bend public school system calendar, the earlier 10:00 p.m. start only applies on nights before an actual school day, not on weekends or during summer break, when the later midnight start controls.
