Pomona, CA Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Article VI, Division 1 of Chapter 34 sets Pomona's nighttime curfew. Sec. on Friday and Saturday nights. Sec. 34-262 makes it unlawful for any minor, defined as anyone under 18, to be present and remain in a public place or on the premises of a business establishment during those hours, and Sec. 34-263 separately makes it unlawful for a parent or guardian to knowingly permit, or through insufficient control allow, the minor to be there. Sec. 34-264 lists nine exceptions and defenses, including being accompanied by a parent or guardian, running an errand at a parent's direction without detour, traveling interstate in a vehicle, going to or from legitimate employment without detour, responding to an emergency, standing on the sidewalk abutting the minor's own or an immediately adjacent residence, attending or traveling directly to or from a supervised school, religious, sports or recreational activity, exercising First Amendment rights, or being an emancipated minor.

Before enforcing, Sec. 34-265 requires an officer to ask the minor's age and reason for being out, and bars a citation or arrest unless the officer reasonably believes an offense occurred and no exception applies. Sec. 00 or up to six months in the Los Angeles County or Pomona city jail, or both, at the court's discretion.
