Vineland, NJ Curfew Laws: Juvenile Curfew (2026)

Vineland's Curfew Ordinance, City Code § 307-3, makes it unlawful for any person 17 or younger to be on City streets, sidewalks, parking lots or other public areas at night between 5:00 a.m. and the curfew hour: 10:00 p.m. for minors 13 and under, and 11:00 p.m. on Sunday through Thursday or midnight on Friday and Saturday for minors 14 through 17. Section 307-4 exempts minors accompanied by a parent or parent-authorized adult, those within 50 feet of home, minors exercising First Amendment rights while carrying written parental authorization, those with a certified employment card, minors traveling with parental consent in a vehicle, and minors on medical, school, religious or community-sponsored errands.

Under § 307-5, a parent who knowingly permits or carelessly allows a violation is separately liable. Enforcement under § 307-6 requires an officer to identify the juvenile, contact a parent or guardian, and file a written report; a first violation draws only a certified warning letter to the parents. A second violation triggers prosecution of the parent under § 307-7, and repeated violations by the same juvenile are reported to state juvenile authorities and may be referred to Cumberland County Family Part.
