Conway, AR Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

The City of Conway, Arkansas closes its public parks and city-owned recreational facilities to overnight use through a citywide quiet-hours rule codified at Conway Municipal Code § 12.08.03(F)-(G). Quiet hours run nightly from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., and no person may remain in a park or city-owned facility after that hour unless the office of the Mayor or a designee has granted special written permission in advance. The ordinance specifically names camping, sleeping, and lodging as covered conduct, closing the obvious workaround of treating a park bench or pavilion as an overnight shelter.

Even with written permission, a visitor cannot stay longer than two consecutive nights, and the Expo Center RV Park, the one facility built for overnight vehicles, is limited to city-sponsored events rather than general public camping. Parks and Recreation staff and the Conway Police Department enforce the curfew; a person found in a park after hours is subject to immediate removal of both themselves and their belongings under § 12.08.03(G)(3), separate from any other penalty. General park-rule violations, including a quiet-hours breach, carry the citywide fine set at § 12.08.08: not less than $25 nor more than $100 per occurrence, and a continuing violation can be charged as a new offense each day, up to $100 per day. The rule applies uniformly across every Conway park and Parks and Recreation facility, not just Beaverfork Lake or a single flagship park.
