Hall County, GA Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Hall County Code of Ordinances § 2.50.200 makes it unlawful for any person to enter or remain within a recreation facility, defined by § 2.50.010 to include all county parks, land, buildings, lakes and swimming pools, between 12:01 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. daily. The section carves out two exceptions: authorized recreation facility personnel, and overnight campers staying within officially designated overnight camping areas. Beyond the blanket citywide-style curfew window, § 2.50.200 also lets the county recreation and parks board impose tighter hours at individual sites, which it enforces by posting the applicable hours on the affected premises, so a specific park or lake access point can be closed earlier than 7 a.m. reopening if the board has posted a shorter window there.

A companion provision, § 2.50.210, applies the identical 12:01 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. restriction to vehicles, barring anyone from driving, parking or attempting to park on the streets, avenues, parking areas or any other location within a recreation facility during those hours, with the same personnel and overnight-camper exceptions. Both sections trace to Resolution of 3-12-84 (§§ 14 and 15) and were carried forward from former Code 1991 §§ 2.20.200 and 2.20.210, meaning the overnight closure has been continuously codified county policy since at least the mid-1980s and applies uniformly across every unincorporated Hall County recreation facility, including Lake Lanier-area parks, rather than to any single site.
