Day-use access to San Bernardino County Regional Parks is limited to posted operating hours, and county parks are governed by the County Code (Chapter on Regional Parks, Section 16.0223). Under the County's 2024 expanded-hours schedule, the five major regional parks (Cucamonga-Guasti, Glen Helen, Mojave Narrows, Prado, and Yucaipa) open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 8 p.m. during the spring and summer season. After daylight saving time ends, the County rolls back closing to align with the time change: from early November through the winter the parks open at 7:30 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. (effectively sunset, with closing times monitored by park staff). Park visitors may not remain in the park after closing unless they are registered overnight campers in a designated campground, for which check-out time is 11:30 a.m. The Park Rules also require pets to be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet at all times per County Ordinance, prohibit fireworks and firearms in all parks (except the Prado Regional Park shooting range), and prohibit off-road vehicles. Specific hours vary by park and season, so visitors should confirm current posted hours before arriving. A separate prohibition on camping or occupying a temporary structure outside designated areas applies countywide under Development Code Section 84.25.070.
