Fontana city parks are closed from 10:00 p.m. to sunrise daily. Entering a closed park is an infraction. Special permits allow after-hours use for reserved events and athletic fields.
Under Fontana Municipal Code provisions governing city parks, all parks, trails, and recreational areas operated by the Community Services Department are closed to the general public between 10:00 p.m. and sunrise, unless the specific facility has posted different hours or is subject to a valid event permit. This curfew applies to walking trails, picnic areas, sports fields, splash pads, playgrounds, and parking lots. Alcohol, glass containers, amplified sound without a permit, camping, and open fires outside of designated barbecues are also restricted during open hours. Reserved athletic fields and tournaments may extend closing times through a Community Services permit with notice to adjacent neighborhoods. Violations can result in an infraction citation, removal from the park, and in serious cases, criminal trespass charges. Homeless camping in parks is addressed through a combination of this ordinance and state outreach rules.
