Section 15-1 of the Lauderhill Code sets the default operating hours for every city park: parks without lighting for night-time events may open to the public from sunrise but must close at sunset, while parks equipped with lighting may open from sunrise and stay open past sunset, with the specific closing time set by city administration rather than fixed in the Code. Section 15-2 separately makes it unlawful for any person to use or be physically present on a city park property beyond the hours of operation set out in the chapter, so the closing time itself and the trespass offense are addressed in different sections.

Enforcement runs through the city's police department and code enforcement, and Section 15-3 sets a uniform penalty for any violation of the parks chapter: a fine of up to $500 per violation, imprisonment up to 30 days, or both, at the court's discretion. The hours provision dates to a 1978 ordinance amended in 1991, and it applies citywide to the full inventory of Lauderhill parks named elsewhere in the Code, including Veterans Park, Central Broward Regional Park and Ilene Lieberman Botanical Gardens. Because the lit-park closing hour is set administratively rather than printed in the ordinance, the exact posted closing time can differ by park and is typically shown on signage at each facility; the fixed rule in the Code is only that unlit parks close at sunset.
