Palm Beach Gardens, FL Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Section 46-4 of the Code sets the baseline hours of use for city parks: open from sunrise to sunset every day of the year, with parkways excluded from the section entirely. Areas that have been specifically lighted for nighttime use, such as ball fields, courts, or jogging trails, may stay open until 11:00 p.m. unless the parks and recreation division posts different hours by sign. Subsection (a) makes it unlawful for anyone to enter or remain on park property while it is closed unless they hold a permit from the 'person officially designated,' or POD, granting specific after-hours authorization.

Subsection (b) lets the POD post signs establishing later opening or earlier closing times for any individual park, and subsection (c) gives law enforcement officers and the POD authority to order anyone to leave park property at any time, open or closed, with noncompliance itself a separate violation. Enforcement of the whole parks chapter runs through the police department, the code enforcement department, and the parks and recreation division under Section 46-3, which also lets the city manager adopt additional reasonable rules governing park property and activities. Because Chapter 46 sets no dedicated fine for a curfew violation, it falls back on the Code's general penalty in Section 1-18.
