Jupiter, FL Curfew Laws: Park Curfew (2026)

Sec. 14-82 of the Jupiter Town Code, adopted by Ordinance No. 12-25 on November 6, 2025, sets the hours the town's parks are open to the public. Subsection (a) draws the line at sunset: nobody may be or remain anywhere on park property between sunset and sunrise, with one carve-out for lighted areas during a town-sponsored event or activity, such as a scheduled evening concert or holiday program. Because the boundary is tied to sunset and sunrise rather than a fixed clock time, the closing hour shifts with the season, running earlier in December and later in June.

Subsection (b) layers on a second rule: any activity a park posts as off-limits by signage is prohibited, which lets the parks and recreation department restrict specific areas, such as a closed trail, a resodded field, or a construction zone, without a separate ordinance for every posted restriction. Subsection (c) protects children's play areas specifically, barring any adult 18 or older from entering or remaining in a designated play area unless they are supervising or accompanying children actually using it, a rule aimed at loitering rather than at parents and caregivers doing exactly what the space is for.

Enforcement runs through Sec. 14-85, which puts every law enforcement officer with jurisdiction over the park, plus authorized department employees, in charge of ordering violators to leave. Sec. 14-86 sets the penalty for any division 1 violation, including the after-hours rule, at whatever the town's civil citation system under chapter 8 provides, rather than a criminal charge.
