Full Breakdown

New Haven Zoning Ordinance Section 60 requires a stormwater management plan as part of any zoning approval, special permit, coastal site plan review, or inland wetlands permit application where the project disturbs a half-acre or more of land, adds a half-acre or more of impervious cover, proposes three or more new residential units, or expands commercial/industrial impervious surface by more than 500 square feet. The plan must show pre- and post-development runoff rates, soil characteristics, and stormwater control measures, and the reviewing commission can refer it to the state DEP for a discharge-permit determination.

Violations & Fines

Applying for zoning or coastal-site-plan approval on a covered project without a stormwater management plan under Section 60 means the application is incomplete and cannot be approved.
