29(C) sets the city's specific flood-resistant construction requirements under the Broward County Administrative Provisions for the Florida Building Code, applying in all areas of the city. For residential buildings, new construction and substantial improvements must have the lowest floor, including any basement, elevated to or above the base flood elevation plus one foot, or at least 18 inches above the highest point of the crown of all existing adjacent streets, whichever produces the higher elevation. Nonresidential buildings must be elevated or dry floodproofed to the Florida Building Code's required elevation, or at least six inches above the street crown, whichever is higher.
