South Coast AQMD Rule 444 also restricts agricultural and open burning across the Inland Empire portion of the South Coast Air Basin.
Violations of JVMC Ch. 8.10 / 2025 CFC §307 are enforced by Riverside County Fire Department / CAL FIRE and City Code Enforcement. The Fire Code Official may order any unauthorized fire extinguished. CFC violations may be charged as misdemeanors under the adopted Fire Code, with administrative citations issued through the City. Wildfire spread from a negligent recreational fire can additionally trigger civil cost-recovery under Health & Safety Code §13009 for suppression costs.
