Pinellas Park allows recreational fires in containers no larger than three feet in diameter and two feet high, attended at all times with extinguishing equipment ready, per Florida Fire Prevention Code adopted by the city.
The Pinellas Park Fire Department enforces recreational fire rules under the Florida Fire Prevention Code together with Pinellas County Chapter 58, Article V. A recreational fire must be inside a grill, portable fireplace, or designated fire ring, with total fuel area not exceeding three feet in diameter and two feet in height. The fire must be constantly attended by a competent person until completely extinguished, and a working hose, bucket of water, fire extinguisher, or shovel and dirt must be ready. Cooking fires in barbecues and outdoor cookers are treated similarly. Fires must not threaten structures, vehicles, or neighboring property, and may be ordered extinguished if smoke or sparks become a nuisance.
Unattended fires, oversized fuel piles, lack of extinguishing equipment, or smoke complaints can trigger orders to extinguish and code citations.
