All fireworks are illegal in the City of Eastvale. Eastvale Municipal Code Chapter 8.22 prohibits the possession, sale, and use of fireworks citywide (EMC 8.22.030), with no exception for 'safe and sane' fireworks. Riverside County bans even safe-and-sane fireworks, so sparklers and cones are also prohibited. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire and the Sheriff enforce a zero-tolerance policy.
Eastvale is one of many Riverside County jurisdictions that bans all consumer fireworks. Eastvale Municipal Code Chapter 8.22 (Fireworks) prohibits fireworks, and Section 8.22.030 (Prohibition) makes the possession, sale, and discharge of fireworks unlawful within the city. Unlike some California cities that allow California State Fire Marshal-approved 'safe and sane' fireworks under Health & Safety Code section 12500 et seq., Eastvale and Riverside County permit none — the City's public notices state that ALL fireworks, including sparklers, are illegal. 'Dangerous fireworks' (firecrackers, bottle rockets, aerials, and sparklers over the statutory size) are independently illegal statewide under Health & Safety Code section 12677. Only licensed public displays by permitted pyrotechnic operators are allowed. CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department, the Riverside County Sheriff, and the City's Community Enhancement & Safety Team enforce a zero-tolerance policy, including confiscation, citation, and arrest. Anyone who starts a fire with illegal fireworks can be billed for the full cost of fire suppression.
Under EMC 8.22.070 (Penalties), fines for fireworks violations can reach as much as $3,500. Violators are subject to confiscation of all fireworks, citation, and/or arrest, and may be held financially responsible for all fire suppression costs if illegal fireworks cause a fire. State dangerous-fireworks offenses under Health & Safety Code 12677 carry additional criminal penalties.
