Consumer fireworks are prohibited within Huntsville city limits under Huntsville Code of Ordinances. State law Ala. Code 8-17-210 allows sales, but city ordinance bans discharge inside Huntsville.
Huntsville bans the sale, possession, and discharge of consumer fireworks within city limits. Residents must travel outside city limits to legally discharge fireworks. Violations are enforced by Huntsville Police and Fire Marshal. Sparklers and novelty items may still be restricted locally. The city uses professional displays for July 4 and New Year events.
Fines up to 500 dollars per incident. Fireworks causing fire damage or injury can result in arrest and restitution.
