In unincorporated Fort Bend County, consumer fireworks are legal under Chapter 2154 of the Texas Occupations Code, but cannot be used within 600 feet of any church, hospital, asylum, licensed child-care center, or school, within 100 feet of flammable liquid or gas storage, within 100 feet of fireworks storage or sales locations, in or from a motor vehicle, or inside any building. The Commissioners Court may prohibit skyrockets with sticks and missiles with fins when the Keetch-Byram Drought Index exceeds 500. All retail fireworks stands must obtain a permit from the Fire Marshal.
