Smoke detectors shall be installed and maintained in all bed and breakfast establishments. Smoke detectors shall be installed as follows: one in each sleeping room, one within 15 feet of sleeping rooms in the corridor or hallway adjoining the sleeping rooms, and at least one smoke detector on each floor of the bed and breakfast establishment, excluding any unoccupied attics. For bed and breakfast establishments required to comply with building and fire codes applicable to new construction, smoke detectors shall be installed in accordance with said new construction codes.(b)The bed and breakfast establishment owner shall provide such periodic written reports relating to smoke detector testing and maintenance with each license application as shall be required by the fire prevention bureau.(c)Portable fire extinguishers shall be provided on each floor in accordance with NFPA 10—Standards for the Installation of Portable Fire Extinguishers.(d)All combustibles or flammable liquids shall be stored in approved metal containers. No combustible storage is permitted in or under stairways.(e)All trash containers shall be metal.(f)No cooking appliances or facilities shall be permitted in guestrooms.(g)No portable heating devices shall be permitted.
