Terrebonne Parish, LA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Food Truck Permits (2026)

Terrebonne Parish Code Section 16-56 governs mobile food vendors operating in commercial, medical services or industrial zones as well as unzoned parts of the parish. Section 16-56(c) requires registering each mobile food unit separately with the Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government Regulatory Division, submitting a $100 registration fee, the unit's DMV registration statement, a valid Department of Health and Hospitals permit, the vendor's Terrebonne Parish occupational license, proof the business is in good standing with the Louisiana Secretary of State, and approval from one of the parish's Fire Prevention Bureaus under Chapter 8.

All registrations expire July 1 each year and must be renewed annually, with renewal applications accepted up to 30 days before expiration; the registration copy must stay displayed on the unit at all times. Beyond registering the unit itself, Section 16-56(g) requires a separate, no-fee location permit for each property the unit operates from, applied for with a permit application, proof of ownership or the property owner's written permission, and a site plan showing the unit won't interfere with parking or deliveries. Units placed no more than 24 consecutive hours and no more than twice a year at the same location are exempt from the location-permit requirement, though registration and health department compliance still apply.

The department can revoke a unit's registration, and any location permits tied to it, if the vendor falls out of compliance with the registration or permit requirements.
