Arvada, CO Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Sidewalk & Mobile Vending (2026)

Section 3-1-4-11, Transient Merchants and Entertainment, is the provision that actually governs a pedestrian food vendor working an Arvada sidewalk, not the food-truck vending section, which covers vehicles. 4 requires that license, plus the sales-and-use tax license and any health permit, to be displayed on site. a sets the core sidewalk rule: if vending occurs on the sidewalk portion of a public street right-of-way, the vendor must maintain a minimum five-foot clearance so pedestrians can still pass. 2 then lists prohibited locations that apply on top of the clearance rule: no vending on City property without approval, none within 40 feet of a school during school hours unless the school gives written permission, none within six feet of any other driveway or a crosswalk, and none within ten feet of a handicapped parking space or access ramp.

Subsection E adds street-specific rules for vendors actually working the public right-of-way: no vending on a sidewalk narrower than five feet, and no setting up within 15 feet of a competing business's entrance without that owner's written permission. Food vendors must also carry a Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment permit for mobile food establishments.
