Corona, CA Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Sidewalk & Mobile Vending (2026)

Corona Municipal Code Chapter 5.35 implements the state Safe Sidewalk Vending Act locally. Section 5.35.030 requires anyone engaging in sidewalk vendor activity to first obtain a permit from the Planning and Development Director, with an application disclosing identity, ID number, whether the vendor is stationary or roaming, hours and locations of operation, receptacle dimensions, food or merchandise sold, a Chapter 8.16 health permit for food sales, a seller's permit, $1,000,000 in general liability insurance naming the City as additional insured, and a business license. Section 5.35.040 gives the Director 30 days to issue the permit if the vendor has not had a permit revoked in the past 12 months, has not received more than two administrative citations in 12 months, and has paid all fees; permits run one year and are non-transferable.

Section 5.35.060 sets operating rules: receptacles and display area cannot exceed 50 square feet or 6 feet in height, cannot be motorized, must stay attended within five feet, must maintain a four-foot clear accessible path, cannot exceed 65 decibels of noise within ten feet, and cannot operate in residential zones between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. Section 5.35.070 bars vending within 18 inches of any curb face, on emergency vehicle accessways, or within 200 feet of a permitted special event. Section 5.35.050 lets the Director suspend or revoke a permit after four violations, barring reapplication for two years after revocation.
