Wyoming, MI Food Trucks & Mobile Vendors: Sidewalk & Mobile Vending (2026)

Sec. 14-133(2) of the Wyoming Code of Ordinances lists what is off-limits for mobile food vendors: operating within a public street right-of-way or private street easement, on public property (other than a municipal park during a city-authorized special event), on undeveloped property, lots with unoccupied structures, or unpaved surfaces, and in any residentially zoned district except at a catered event paid for by a single party or a city-approved special event. Read together with Sec. 14-133(1), which confines vendors to paved parking lots in FBC, B-1, B-2, B-3, I-1, I-2 or I-3 zoning districts, commercial PUD areas, or municipal parks during authorized special events, this makes sidewalk and street-side food vending effectively prohibited citywide: a food truck cannot legally park on a public sidewalk, street shoulder, or unimproved lot anywhere in the city.

Vendors must also avoid obstructing motorist visibility, parking lot circulation, or access to a public street, alley, fire hydrant, or sidewalk under Sec. 14-133(8). This ordinance governs only inside the Wyoming, Kent County, Michigan city limits, distinct from the State of Wyoming or neighboring Grand Rapids.
