Conway, AR Garage & Yard Sales: Frequency, Duration & Permits (2026)

Chapter 4.60 of the Conway Municipal Code covers what it calls yard sales, carport sales, garage sales, porch sales, patio sales, and any other sale run out of a person's residence, per Section 4.60.01. Section 4.60.02 restricts every such sale to three days of duration and forbids holding more than two sales on the same premises within any one-year period, so a household that runs a three-day sale in March cannot legally run a second one until the following March unless the two sales fall inside the same calendar year and stay under the two-sale cap.

The ordinance carves out one exemption: a home business that is properly licensed under the City's zoning ordinance is not treated as a residential sale and falls outside Chapter 4.60 entirely. Section 4.60.04 separately makes it unlawful to run a sale in a manner that blocks or obstructs vehicular traffic or creates a hazardous driving condition on the street in front of the property. Enforcement runs through the Conway Municipal Code's general penalty structure for Chapter 4.60, and Section 4.60.07 sets the fine directly: a misdemeanor conviction carries a fine of at least $25.00 and up to $100.00, with each day the sale continues in violation counted as its own separate offense, so a sale that runs a fourth day past the three-day limit can rack up multiple counts.
