Appendix A's zoning definitions cap a yard sale or garage sale at three days per event, held on the premises of a residential use. The sale can be run solo or jointly with a neighboring residential property, but either way the frequency limit is the same: not more than one sale within each calendar quarter, meaning a household gets four opportunities a year at most, spaced roughly three months apart. Because this is a zoning definition rather than a business-licensing rule, the enforcement path runs through the same certificate-of-zoning-compliance and code-enforcement mechanisms as other Appendix A land-use standards, not through a separate garage-sale permit application.

Gulfport also confirms, in its transient vendor licensing chapter, that a garage sale held on residentially used premises is specifically carved out of the applicability of the city's transient vendor and peddler licensing scheme, so a resident holding a compliant sale does not need to obtain a vendor's license or pay a licensing fee to the city clerk. The exemption only reaches sales conducted on residential premises; a sale run at a commercial location, or by a transient vendor operating out of a residence, would not qualify for the carve-out.
