Gulfport, MS Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 6-321 lists the places where stopping, standing or parking a vehicle is banned without any sign needed: on a sidewalk, in front of a public or private driveway, within an intersection, within ten feet of a fire hydrant, on a crosswalk, within twenty feet of a crosswalk at an intersection, within thirty feet of a stop sign or signal, within fifteen feet of a railroad crossing, and within twenty feet of a fire station driveway, among other locations. Section 6-301 separately requires that, absent authorized angle parking, every vehicle parked next to a curb must have its right-hand wheels parallel to and within twelve inches of that curb, which as a practical matter rules out parking against the flow of traffic on that side of the street.

Section 6-322 bars parking in a way that leaves less than ten feet of roadway width open for traffic, and Section 6-323 applies the same ten-foot clearance rule to alleys while also barring blocking a driveway entrance from an alley. Enforcement runs through Section 6-332, which makes any violation of the stopping-standing-parking article a misdemeanor punishable up to the ceiling set by Miss. Code Ann. Section 63-9-11; the city separately sets its own lower maximum fine schedule from time to time, and the municipal court and police assess fines within those city-set limits.
