Ridgewood limits each person and each premises to no more than two garage sales per calendar year, each lasting up to two consecutive days.
Under Chapter 163, no person may conduct more than two garage sales in any one calendar year, and no premises may be the subject of more than two garage sales in any one calendar year. Each licensed sale is limited to a maximum of two days, which must be consecutive. These caps apply equally to garage, lawn, attic, rummage, flea market, and estate sales. The dual cap on both the seller and the property is intended to limit the cumulative impact of casual retail activity in residential neighborhoods. Permit applicants should track prior sales to remain within both limits.
Exceeding the two-sale annual limit, or running a sale for more than two consecutive days, may result in permit denial, revocation, and fines.
